Is it any good? I started reading 'Everything is Illuminated' on your and someone else's recommendation, but had a hard time getting into it. Then it was due at the library, so I stopped. The way Alex speaks in just the first few pages drove me NUTS, I couldn't stand it at all. I thought it was so poorly done. I'll give it another try, but really wasn't impressed with the first couple of chapters.

Now I'm reading a book by Salman Rushdie, and I love it (Harun und das Meer der Geschichten).

I thought Alex's bits were really funny! And the whole structure of the book was ingenious. Well, that's my opinion anyway. :P

I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book. It isn't your usual YA novel. Easy reading, yes, but still meaningful. And I fell in love with the characters... especially Silas.
